15-17 May, 2017
HEC Paris Campus
Land of Entrepreneurship and Initiative
With HEC Paris’ own development in Africa becoming one of our top priorities, the French business school decided to launch its first-ever edition of Africa Days@HECParis, between 15 - 17 May, shining the spotlight on young entrepreneurs and those who are building the Africa of the 21st century.
The objectives were twofold: to raise awareness within our HEC community (its students, professors, collaborators, alumni, sponsors, business partners, etc.) about the key issues dominating Africa; and both to associate and create collaborations with its partners around three themes: entrepreneurship, digital transformation and social responsibility. These strategic priorities are equally vital for the African continent.
With support from our partners, we were able to welcome more than 1200 participants for the first edition of this event: students, startups, business leaders, investors, political decision makers and jouranlists were all present across the three days, to analyse and rethink the economic model of the African encomy. The event was held over three evenings, including debates focusing on the challenges and key issues in Africa, new models for development, career opportunities and the omnipresent theme of entrepreneurship. The success of the event, and the unexpectedly large turnout, reflects the entrepreneurial energy and ambition for building a more competitive, inclusive and responsible Africa.
Thank you for your continued support and energy!
